Billy Fury

This is a shot of the Billy Fury sculpture on the waterfront in Liverpool. I think it looks good against the sky.

This is the Billy Fury statue at the albert dock. I like how it is silhouetted against the sky.

This is one of the sculptures outside St Georges Hall in Liverpool

I wonder what this sculpture is supposed to represent. Maybe I should do a little research into by blog entries.

Night photography is not my strong point but when I saw this I had to give it a go.
This bunny is hanging on the tower of St James Church in Toxteth.
Rabbit is the fourth and final animal, by artist Ron Haselden, in a series of striking light installations as part of Liverpool Biennial’s Winter Lights programme.
In other news, I got a letter from Digital SLR Photography Magazine today telling me I was in the top 100 entrants in their Photo Excellence Awards 2008 and inviting me to an awards ceremony next week in London. It also says that the overall winner will be announced and used the words ‘you never know, it could be you!’
Everyone please keep your fingers crossed for me.

This will probably be the last crystal spider shot I post. I like this angle.

I like this shot with the buildings in the background. Shame there is a cherry picker parked in the way.

This is probably not the best shot I took of the crystal spider, far from it in fact. However I wanted to show the scale of the spider and it’s web.

I went out earlier to take photographs of the crystal spider behind the town hall in Liverpool city centre. Wow is all I can say really. As art goes this is pretty cool. I love the light it throws over the whole area.
When I got home I sat down to edit my shots and ‘BANG’ there goes another laptop power supply. So this shot has been edited on a PC with a keyboard that doesn’t work properly, a monitor that is too dark and if I have to use it much longer it will also have a hole in it the size of my foot. Hopefully the shot looks OK.

I wanted to post these last two image of La Princesse because it was such a challenge to get good shots on the last night. It was quite dark and as I mentioned yesterday I was working on the limits of what my equipment would allow. I think you will agree they have worked out quit well. I am pleased with the way the slow shutter speed has made the plume of spray from the back look.
